Using Your Library
Public Computers
Patrons can sign in to a public computer using their library card number (from any BCCLS library) or by requesting a guest pass from staff. Please note:
- There is a 2 hour time limit for computer use in adult areas and a 30 minute time limit for computers in the Junior Room.
- No eating or drinking is permitted while sitting at a public computer.
- No more that 2 people may use a public computer at the same time.
- Loud or continuous talking is not permitted in the Library.
- Computers are shut down 15 minutes before closing.
- Library staff reserves the right to terminate use of the PCs or Internet when the above rules are not being observed. Click here for our Internet Use policy.
A computer for searching the BCCLS catalog  is located on the main floor near the circulation desk. It does not require a library card or guest pass and cannot be used for any other purpose.
WiFi
DASH WiFi is available in the library. If you have signed into a DASH WiFi network at another BCCLS library, you will automatically be signed in to our network. Signs with the password are on display around the library; you can also ask a staff member.
All public computers are linked to a shared printer / photocopier on the first floor.
Black-and-white printouts/photocopies are 15 cents per page. Color printouts/photocopies are 35 cents per page. Pay at the payment station next to the photocopier with cash, credit card, or mobile wallet. Please note: The payment station does not accept pennies or bills larger than $10. If paying with card, a $10 hold temporarily will be placed on your card, but you will only be charged for the pages you print. The library does not have access to the credit card reader and cannot issue refunds.
Visit our mobile printing portal to upload the document or file you would like to print. This can be done from anywhere, whether or not you’re in the library. You will be asked to enter a release ID. To print your file, visit the library and pay at the payment station. Your release ID will be used to find your file. Files are deleted overnight.

Requirements for Notary Service:
- The signer of the document must appear before the Notary.
- The Notary must positively identify the signer, and
- The signer must both acknowledge that the signature is their own and that it was made willingly.
The following guidelines will be followed for notary service:
- The person who signs the document must ensure that it is completely filled out, leaving no blanks other than where they will sign, before appearing before the Library Notaries. Library Notaries cannot notarize any document with blank spaces.
- Government-issued photo identification is required for any patron seeking notary services.
The Notary WILL NOT:

Additional Notes:

- Documents in any language other than English will not be notarized.
- New Jersey law requires that a Notary and the patron seeking notarization be able to communicate directly with each other. Library Notaries are not permitted to make use of a translator to communicate with a Notary service customer.
In accordance with New Jersey Notarial Law, notaries reserve the right to decline service if the document(s), identification, or circumstances of the request raise any issue of authenticity, ambiguity, or doubt from the Library.
Thanks to the generosity of former Library Board Secretary Claire Beslow and her late husband, Edward, the Library received a donation of a Telesensory Machine with a 19-inch monitor. This machine magnifies printed text for the ease of reading by patrons who are visually impaired or who simply need extra help.
We invite anyone who may need such assistance to visit the Library and use the machine, which sits at the end of the row of computers on the lower level of the Library. An unexpected benefit to our community is that former Borough Historian / Archivist George Carter found the machine to be of use in deciphering the handwritten Chapin letters on which he and his interns had worked on in the Local History Room.
