Displays at the Library
New Books Area
July is Disability Pride Month, commemorating the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) in 1990. Our book display honors this legacy with powerful nonfiction exploring the experiences and advocacy of people with disabilities, as well as fiction featuring disabled characters in authentic, meaningful roles. Celebrate the voices, resilience, and diversity of the disability community.
Display Cases
Step into the pages of the past with a display of handmade books from the 1800s, on view throughout the month of May in the library’s main level display cases. Featuring sketchbooks, pattern books, music, and more, these treasures from around the world provide a glimpse into the minds of their creators. Come discover the beauty, creativity, and everyday lives recorded in these one-of-a-kind books. All items from the collection of local textile designer, Shira Kaplan.
