Computers & WiFi Policy

Public Computers

Patron’s can sign in to a public computer using their library card number (from any BCCLS library) or by requesting a guest pass from staff. Please note:

  • There is a 2 hour time limit for computer use in adult areas and a 30 minute time limit for computers in the Junior Room.
  • No eating or drinking is permitted while sitting at a public computer.
  • No more that 2 people may use a public computer at the same time.
  • Loud or continuous talking is not permitted in the Library.
  • Computers are shut down 15 minutes before closing.
  • The Library Staff reserves the right to terminate use of the PCs or Internet when the above rules are not being observed. Click here for our Internet Use policy.

A computer for searching the BCCLS catalog  is located on the main floor near the circulation desk. It does not require a library card or guest pass and cannot be used for any other purpose.

WiFi

DASH WiFi is available in the library. If you have signed into a DASH WiFi network at another BCCLS library before, you will automatically be signed in to our network. Signs with the password are on display around the library; you can also ask a staff member.

Printing, Scanning, and Photocopying

Printing is available from all public computers on the first floor and lower level. Public computers are linked to the shared printer/photocopier in the Reference Area on the first floor. Photocopies can be made on the same machine. Printing charges are $0.10 a page for black & white and $1.00 a page for color. Our coin box only accepts coins and $1 bills. We cannot make change for larger bills.

Scanning is free. Access the scanning function by selecting the Free Scan Menu on the photocopier touchscreen.
