The Oradell Public Library is holding a Bloomsday Celebration on Monday, June 16th at 7 p.m. This will be part of a worldwide celebration honoring the publication of the immortal work of James Joyce, Ulysses.

Festivities will include readings by two of our area’s leading Library Directors, Daragh O’Connor from nearby River Edge and John Trause, the Director of the Oradell Library. Additional readers will include Michael Tubridy, author of the book An Irish Passion for Justice, and Mary Margaret Carter. Anyone interested in joining the readers please contact the Library at 201-262-2613 or contact Dianne Daniele at Sonnydeeb40@mail.com. If you are a reader or just someone who enjoys a good story, join us and be thrilled by the words of this important and wonderful book. The Supreme Court decision will also be discussed.

The next meeting will be on Monday, July 7, 2025, starting early at 6 p. m., with the screening of the film Field of Lost Shoes (2014), based on a true story of the American Civil War, culminating at the Battle of New Market, May 1864, in which a group of teenage cadets sheltered from war at the Virginia Military Institute must confront the horrors of an adult world, when they are called upon to defend the Shenandoah Valley.
