Oradell Public Library, NJ
Meeting Space Reservation Policy
The primary function of our two meeting spaces is to provide room for library-sponsored programming, held by the Library staff, the Library Board of Trustees, or the Friends of the Library. Precedence will be given to Library related events. Community groups engaged in educational, cultural, intellectual, charitable, or social activities may then apply to use the Meeting Room or Craft Area, free of charge. The spaces are not available to for-profit businesses or organizations.
- The Meeting Room, located on the lower level, may only be used during normal Library open hours (Mon- Thurs, 10am – 9pm; Fri & Sat, 10am – 5pm; Sun 1 – 5 pm; closed Sat and Sun, July & August).
- The Craft Area located on the Junior Room level, may only be used during weekday Junior Room operating hours (Mon- Thurs, 10am – 7pm and Fri 10am – 4:45pm).
All meetings must end 15 minutes prior to the established Library area closing time. Groups may reserve the spaces for two meeting times in any one month. The spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and cancellations are requested at least 48 hours in advance of the date booked.
All meetings must be open to the public.
Group size is limited to 25 persons for each space.
No admission fee may be charged for a program or event, with the exception of fees for the purchase of supplies used during a program, such as a craft workshop.
The Library does not advocate or endorse the viewpoints expressed by meeting space users.
The consumption of food and beverages, alcoholic and otherwise, and gambling are prohibited on Library grounds.
Applicants are responsible for space setup and breakdown and for returning all furniture to its original location. The space will be cleaned up and restored to its condition prior to use. Costs incurred by the Library for cleaning or repairing damages will be billed to the responsible organization for reimbursement.
Failure to comply with space regulations as described in this policy will result in the forfeiture of Meeting Space privileges.
