JerseyCat Borrowing

The Oradell Public Library is able to request materials not owned by a BCCLS library via JerseyCat. The JerseyCat catalog includes the collections of almost all of New Jersey’s public libraries as well as many colleges, universities, and schools.

Oradell residents interested in items not owned by a BCCLS library may contact the Adult Services Librarian at the Reference Desk or orla.cassidy@oradell.bccls.org. Non-residence should visit their home library to request materials through JerseyCat. If an item cannot be obtained from one of the JerseyCat libraries, the Adult Services Librarian will attempt to obtain the title from an out-of-state library.

Borrowing

Libraries are not required to fill JerseyCat holds, and typically do not fill holds for items that are new, popular, delicate in condition, or valuable.

The lending library assigns the due date. Typically JerseyCat items can be borrowed for four weeks. Renewals can be requested. If you’d like to renew an item borrowed through JerseyCat, please contact the Adult Services Librarian. Do not contact the lending library.

Please contact the Adult Services Librarian with any questions, concerns, or requests.
